Mega Millions Resets For Tuesday After Jackpocket User Wins Record Jackpot
Friday’s jackpot, which netted an Arizona ticket-buyer an estimated $112 million, was won utilizing the Jackpocket app

It’s hard to even imagine a time before cars, when a 10-mile trip would’ve needed a lot more planning than a flight to Paris does today.
Heck, imagine a time before flying, when if you wanted to get somewhere across an ocean, you took a boat, like Gilligan or something.
Well, one day our future selves might be looking back, hardly able to fathom a time when we actually stood in line at a convenience store or gas station to purchase our lottery tickets.
And if that’s the case, last Friday night’s Mega Millions drawing may be seen as the Wright Brothers and the Model T all rolled into one, as the winning $112 million ticket was sold via Jackpocket, the nation’s top lottery courier app (based on iOS download data collected by Sensor Tower). It is the first nine-figure prize ever sold on the app, which is part of the DraftKings family.
“This is a transformative moment in lottery history, marking the largest jackpot ever won from a ticket ordered using a lottery courier service,” said Pete Sullivan, SVP, Lottery at DraftKings. “As more customers turn to apps like Jackpocket to order their lottery tickets, we are thrilled to be part of this groundbreaking moment.”
This is the 61st instance of someone winning over $1 million using Jackpocket.
But there’s always a new jackpot to be won, which brings us to Tuesday night’s Mega Millions and Wednesday night’s Powerball.
Gotta start somewhere …
First up, Mega Millions, which will have its first drawing since the Jackpocket winner on Friday. Tuesday’s top prize is the standard reset figure of $20 million, with a cash option of $8.9 million.
Over the course of the six drawings leading up to Friday’s jackpot win, Mega Millions paid out more than 2.6 million winning tickets across all prize tiers, including six second-tier prizes of at least $1 million, won in Florida (by two people), Michigan (also two people), Minnesota, and New Jersey.
Powerball held its own first post-jackpot-winning drawing on Monday night, with the numbers coming in at 15, 16, 32, 47, 54, and a red Powerball of 6. While no one won the top prize of $20 million, one ticket-buyer in Texas matched all five white balls to take home a million dollars.
Lottery Geeks estimates about 6.1 million tickets were sold for Monday’s draw.
Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing is for an estimated $31 million.
Tickets for either lottery cost $2, with most states offering the multiplier option — which impacts any prize won except the jackpot — for an additional $1.
Both Powerball and Mega Millions are legal in all states except Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah. Tickets for both draw games are also sold in Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In Puerto Rico, customers can buy tickets for Powerball, but not for Mega Millions.
