Powerball Jackpot Up To $331 Million, Enough To Buy The Priciest Real Estate
America’s most expensive listed home will come complete with a private tunnel to the Florida beach

If your dream is to own America’s most expensive home for sale, then you’re in luck.
All you need to do is win Saturday night’s Powerball drawing — worth an estimated $331 million, or $145.1 million in cash.
Well, technically, you’d have enough for a down payment, as the home, in Manalapan, Florida, right next to Palm Beach, will be listed at $285 million. Please note that ground has not been broken yet, and if you decide to buy it at list price, it will be the priciest (non-ranch) home sale currently on the market.
The plan is to have nearly 55,000 square feet of living space on the four-acre property, according to the Palm Beach Daily News, and, among other amenities, will include a private tunnel to the beach. The bowling alley, movie theater, shooting range, and car museum come standard, as well.
Or, you could just sock the money away in a 5% CD and stay in your house and just be cool. Your call.
At any rate, this jackpot comes about after nobody took down the top prize Wednesday. Saturday’s drawing will be the 18th since the last jackpot-winning ticket was sold, back on Dec. 7, when a player in New York won the $256 million prize.
Wednesday’s numbers — 8, 41, 52, 53, and 58 and a red Powerball of 7 — did yield one Match 5 winner in Ohio. That ticket-buyer won $1 million with those numbers.
Lottery Geeks estimates a little over 14 million tickets were sold for Wednesday’s drawing.
Mega Millions crosses $100M again
The Mega Millions jackpot for Friday night has climbed to $113 million after nobody won Tuesday night’s drawing that had an advertised top prize of $95 million.
Tuesday’s numbers — 4, 14, 35, 49, and 62 and a gold Mega Ball of 6 — did not yield any million-dollar winners.
Lottery Geeks estimates 10.1 million tickets were sold for Tuesday’s drawing.
Tickets for either lottery cost $2, with most states offering the multiplier option — which impacts any prize won except the jackpot — for an additional $1.
Both Powerball and Mega Millions are legal in all states except Alabama, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah. Tickets for both draw games are also sold in Washington, D.C. and the U.S. Virgin Islands. In Puerto Rico, customers can buy tickets for Powerball, but not for Mega Millions.
